From the moment I started reading this book, I had a huge grin fixed to my face. I loved the comedy element through out and I have to admit, I did have several laugh-out-loud moments, which was down to the superb comic style of writing and the ever increasing witty outbursts of certain characters.
The personalities of the four best friends: Maggie, Catherine, Jenny and Pauline, are all described perfectly and in great detail, making you feel as if you actually know each and every one of them personally. You feel that at any moment, you could be sucked into the story itself and become another member of their adventurous gang.
Young singleton, Maggie Parsons, has been invited to her school reunion party and her ex-boyfriend and love of her life, Luke Henderson, is also going. It has been ten years since she last saw Luke and emotions are running high.
I was particularly drawn to Maggie. Her endearing personality and comic ways made me eager to discover what zany thoughts were going to enter her head next and I couldn’t wait to find out what her fate would ultimately have in store for her. I also loved the relationship between the four friends. I loved how they all supported one another through various crises and were always ready to lend a shoulder to cry on, or share a bottle of wine to celebrate something good.
Friendship, love, tears and a girlie holiday, this book has it all.
A romantic, fun and entertaining chick lit, which encompasses the perfect recipe for a fabulous read.
