Getting Crafty In Half Term

Half term can sometimes be a bit of a challenge. Thinking of different ideas to keep my girls entertained is not an easy thing to do, believe me. They’ve had friends over, gone to the cinema and baked cupcakes, but after doing all that, they still kept asking me what else they could do. So when the people at Stampin’ Up sent me one of their fabulous Lots of Happy card kits to try out, it couldn’t have come at a better time. Both of my girls love to get creative and this was the perfect kit to get their creativeness flowing.

This all-inclusive card kit contains everything you need to make the perfect gift cards and includes enough supplies to make 20 cards, 4 each of 5 designs. The kit includes:

  • Lots of Happy Stamp Set and clear block
  • 20 printed card bases, 4 each of 5 designs
  • 20 printed envelopes
  • Printed, white and vellum die-cut accents
  • Gold foil cardstock labels
  • Basic Black Archival Stampin’ Spot
  • Full-size watercolour pencils in Flirty Flamingo, Lemon Lime Twist, Old Olive and Rich Raspberry
  • Lemon Lime Twist 1/4″ Ombre Ribbon
  • Stampin’ Dimensionals

We all got stuck in and made quite a few cards between us. It was fun designing the different cards and layering all the individual elements, to create a unique, three dimensional design and I must admit it did keep my daughters very busy for quite some time.

There are a couple of things to mention though about the card kit. As I am a complete novice in card making, I wasn’t entirely sure how to correctly use the stamp set as there weren’t any instructions on the leaflet explaining this part, so I had to refer to the internet to find this out. Also, there didn’t seem to be enough ink on the Black Stampin’ Spot, making the card messages appear slightly unclear. Apart from these tiny issues, we really enjoyed making the cards and it certainly kept my girls entertained, for some of the week anyway.
