Like most people, I love to indulge in the odd cocktail here and there, but every now and again, especially on warm sunny days, it’s so refreshing to indulge in a delicious and fruity non-alcoholic mocktail.
Even though I do drink alcohol (always in moderation of course), I’m becoming more and more fond of the non-alcoholic drinks variety, with mocktails in particular being my current drink of choice. What I also love about mocktails are that not only are they cheep and easy to make, my daughters can enjoy them too, so it’s a win, win situation all round.
This strawberry daiquiri recipe is so refreshing and sweet and my girls absolutely loved them. They’re also a perfect non-alcoholic aperitif if you are hosting a dinner or garden party, or a great alternative for the designated driver. If you have a go at making these delicious mocktails, do let me know what you think in the comments section below and for other mocktail ideas, check out my Raspberry Mojito Mocktail for that refreshing and revitalising taste.
Ingredients ~ serves 2 (depending on glass size)
6 strawberries, hulled
1 tbsp caster sugar (extra for coating the rims)
1 tbsp fresh lemon juice (extra for coating the rims)
200ml chilled lemonade
6 cubes of ice
1. Combine all the ingredients in a blender container and blend until smooth.
2. Put some lemon juice on a plate and roll the rims of the glasses on the juice.
3. Put some coloured sugar on a plate (I coloured the sugar with food colouring, but this is optional) and roll the rims of the glasses in the sugar until coated.
4. Pour the strawberry mixture into the glasses and decorate each one with a strawberry. Enjoy!
